Introduction
The main goal of the guide “Great Sultan: Rankings” is to explain the rules for using available resources with maximum benefit. The guide is primarily designed for players with VIP0-VIP4 status.
General Rules
⚠ All (almost) resources (talent tokens, orbs, books, seals, etc.) should be used ONLY in the corresponding ranking/rewards.
⚠ The main task is to ensure STABLE maximum rewards for minimal expenditure. For VIP0-VIP4 players, this means that you will very rarely take first places in the rankings.
⚠ Rankings should not disrupt your overall strategy. You should not bury the Sultan’s future in pursuit of immediate profit (e.g., leveling up advisors below level 60 for reputation, etc.).
⚠ In all rankings, prizes are awarded in intervals: 1, 2, 3, 4-5, 6-10, and so on. Therefore, to save resources, it is important to aim for the lower part of the range without dropping into a different prize range.
Arena Ranking
The arena ranking, in the author’s opinion, is the most dependent on donations, as to achieve a high rank, you must spend Acts of War and/or Competition Edicts. Therefore, don’t be too upset if you can’t climb high 🙂

Strategic Aspects:
- Minimize the total number of advisors – to ensure that attacks on your Sultan reduce as few points as possible;
- Minimize the number of advisors above level 59 – to maximize the chances of obtaining strong advisors for your attacks;
- Unlock 10 slots in the Academy as early as possible and continuously train the best advisors – to ensure the maximum PVP level for 10 advisors;
- Increase the PVP level of another 1-2 advisors with War Codices – this will allow you to gain 1-2 additional competitive advisors. War Codices should be purchased in the alliance shop.
Preparation for the Ranking:
- Accumulate enough PVP seals – to have all the additional attacks available;
- Accumulate enough Acts of War – to be able to use revenge most effectively, depending on the composition of the advisors. Acts of War can be crafted in the Crafting event from one PVP seal and 180 diamonds;
- Accumulate enough tokens for temporary bonuses – to be able to purchase bonuses for 2 each time;
- Use available War Codices – the PVP level of advisors is necessary not only for attacks but also for defense. Alternatively, you can use them when you come across one of the weaker advisors. But it is recommended to spend them on the 11-12 best advisors in terms of talent;
- Monitor and track strong advisors of other players – to more effectively use attacks, avoiding strong advisors.
Participation in the Ranking:
- Start your attacks as late as possible – because points in the personal Arena ranking cannot fall below zero. That is, you should accumulate points by the end of the day so that at the beginning of the day, you have nothing to lose (but make sure you spend everything you planned: all attacks, PVP seals, Acts of War, edicts). This rule is valid if you have few points in the ranking at the beginning of the new day;
- Replace an unlucky opponent with an Act of War – if you encounter an unfavorable opponent in the Arena, you can try to replace them using an Act of War. In this case, the opponent is replaced by a random one;
- Monitor and use Acts of War/competition edicts on competitors in the target ranking range – remember that competitors lose points when you attack them. Therefore, you can deliberately reduce the number of points of direct competitors for ranking spots (Note that an edict removes twice as many points).
Proximity Ranking
Advantages for VIP Players:
- VIP players have a higher limit on the number of walks – as a result, they gain more proximity when using energy orbs;
- VIP players have a daily luck bonus on walks – as a result, they have a higher luck reserve in the ranking, allowing them to gain more proximity when using energy orbs.
Preparation for the Ranking:
- Save items that give proximity;
Participation in the Ranking:
- Use walks first – in case you go on walks and gain proximity from them;
- Use other items at the very end of the ranking – to spend the minimum resources and get into the desired prize range;
- If you are seriously aiming for O’Malley, save – do not spend proximity items at all, do not strive for the cross-server ranking prematurely.
Alliance Contributions Ranking
Preparation for the Ranking:
- Save items that give alliance experience – they can be used at the very end of the ranking to quickly change position;
- Save “Rich Contribution” and “Luxurious Contribution” items;
- Save PVE Seals – to be able to assign additional advisors to alliance expeditions, and as a result, complete more expeditions;
Participation in the Ranking:
- Complete expeditions;
- Do not miss contributions – if there are not enough alliance members capable of contributing at least 200 diamonds, contribute with alternate accounts.
Concubine Experience Ranking
Strategic Aspects:
- Minimize the total number of concubines – to maximize the probability of visiting the concubine with the highest charm;
- Focus on increasing the charm of only one concubine – since the concubine’s experience formula has a quadratic dependence on charm.
Advantages for VIP Players:
- VIP players have a higher limit on the number of visits in the Harem – as a result, they gain more experience when using power orbs;
- VIP players have a higher Sultan’s “Wings of Love” bonus – as a result, they get more x7 experience triggers per day when visiting a concubine.
Preparation for the Ranking:
- Accumulate a sufficient number of power orbs.
Participation in the Ranking:
- Use power orbs on the last day of the ranking – because each day you receive charm bonuses from envoys.
Soldier Ranking
Preparation for the Ranking:
- Accumulate a sufficient number of commander seals, decree seals, resource seals.
Participation in the Ranking:
- If the Campaign level is below 180 – spend soldiers on the Campaign. If the strength of the advisors is not enough to defeat the Boss, either use a PVE seal or wait for the start of a new day;
- Otherwise, spend soldiers on Expeditions.
Reputation, Advisor Talents, and Gold Rankings
These rankings are interconnected as they all increase reputation, so let’s consider them together.

Advisor Talents Ranking
This ranking considers ONLY talents. In this ranking, the amount of reputation you gain does not matter, so you should save as much reputation as possible for the corresponding ranking.
It’s important to note that the rewards in this ranking include more Quartet tokens than in the reputation ranking.
Strategic Aspects:
- Complete all requirements to maximize the book experience gained from the Arena – to get the maximum amount of book experience for leveling talents;
- If possible, have a low-level advisor who, according to the strategy, should receive tokens in the future – to gain the minimum reputation.
Preparation for the Ranking:
- Accumulate a sufficient number of talent tokens and power tokens;
- Consistently buy all available knowledge almanacs in the alliance shop.
Participation in the Ranking:
- Spend talent tokens that bring the minimum reputation;
- Spend book experience that brings the minimum reputation;
- Spend book experience from almanacs and power tokens at the very end – to get into the desired prize range.
Reputation Ranking
This ranking considers reputation gained by any means. Therefore, when overlapping with the gold ranking, you should level up advisors, for example. It is assumed that you can calculate (or you’re too lazy to calculate at all) the increase in reputation from spending resources sufficiently to get into the desired prize range. Therefore, the order of resource expenditure is sorted by descending benefit.
Strategic Aspects:
- Maximize reputation gain from resources
Preparation for the Ranking:
- Accumulate all items that increase reputation in any way.
Participation in the Ranking:
Resource spending order:
- Level up advisors in science, politics, and culture – to avoid losing resources from collection, state decisions, etc. IMPORTANT: Level up advisors only if you have enough gold to compete in the gold ranking or if the reputation ranking overlaps with the gold ranking;
- Level up the tactics advisor – to increase the Sultan’s power. IMPORTANT: Level up the advisor only if you have enough gold to compete in the gold ranking or if the reputation ranking overlaps with the gold ranking;
- Use books that increase “resource” attributes: science, politics, culture – to avoid losing resources from collection, state decisions, etc.;
- Spend experience/pearls on concubines for “resource” attributes – for the same reason;
- Spend Quartet or Quintet tokens to increase harmony – for the same reason, but harmony also boosts tactics;
- Spend experience/pearls on concubines for tactics attributes – tactics attributes only reduce losses in Campaigns and Expeditions, so you can save them between reputation rankings without significantly hindering the Sultan’s development;
- Use books that increase tactics attributes – see the previous point.
Secondary ways to increase reputation:
- Level up children using knowledge orbs;
- Marry off children using rings.
Gold Ranking
Preparation for the Ranking:
- Accumulate gold seals, decree seals, resource seals.
Participation in the Ranking:
Resource spending order:
- Level up advisors – IMPORTANT: only when overlapping with the reputation ranking;
- Travel – to get child training scrolls;
- It’s best not to spend gold on the cannon at all – because it’s useless.
Cross-Server Rankings
Currently, there are cross-server reputation and intimacy rankings in the game.
VIP4+ players should be interested in Grace O’Malley, who can be obtained for first place in the cross-server intimacy ranking across 10 servers.
In all other rankings, the advisors for first place are not good enough to spend resources on, and getting another advisor who will give negative points in the Arena is not worth it.
Overall, the rules for cross-server rankings are simple:
- If you’re saving up for O’Malley, don’t spend intimacy at all until you have a real chance to get her;
- You should at least qualify for cross-server rankings (make it into the top 100 of the server ranking);
- The rules of the corresponding server ranking apply in the cross-server ranking.
The Fund
Since November 5, 2019, it’s no longer worth buying the Fund with diamonds. It’s not profitable.
Rewards During Rankings
The rules are the same as for rankings.
Don’t spend resources needed for rankings outside of rankings, even if it’s rewarded. The exception is when you have enough resources for both the ranking and the rewards, and the rewards are quite good. In this case, you can spend some resources to collect the initial rewards. For example: gold, which can be used to get books for random advisor attributes.
This guide does not describe specific combinations of rankings and rewards during rankings, as they sometimes change, and describing each one is time-consuming and not very useful.
